To celebrate World Mental Health Day, Winstanley College is taking part in #HelloYellow on Friday 8th October to raise money for Young Minds.

Who are Young Minds?

Young Minds is the UKs leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health, with the aim of intervening with help and support before crisis point is reached. The charity envisions a world where young people are not afraid to reach out for help, in the knowledge that once they do, the advice and support they need will be available to them:

‘We provide young people with tools to look after their mental health. We empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And we give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in. Together, we can create a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.’ - Young Minds.

What is Hello Yellow?

#HelloYellow is a fundraising event that thousands of organisations participate in, to raise funds for the amazing work that Young Minds do. Winstanley College is inviting all staff and students to wear something yellow and donate £2 to the important cause. Young Minds want you to ‘dig out your neon socks, custard scarf and banana hat - and show young people they’re not alone with their mental health!’

It’s normal for everyone to feel down sometimes but throughout this challenging year, the ups may have been fewer and farther between. Join us in saying #HelloYellow on Friday 8th October and let’s see how much we can raise! In the words of Young Minds, ‘a little yellow goes a long way.’
