Throwback Thursday: Kaitlin Wilkinson
BackFor this week’s Throwback Thursday we feature former student, Kaitlin Wilkinson who studied at Winstanley College between 2020 and 2022. She is now in her third year of studying for a BA in Criminology at the University of Manchester.
Kaitlin says: ‘I attended Hope Academy before joining Winstanley College where I studied Criminology, Sociology, and Media Studies. During my time at Winstanley, alongside my studies I enjoyed taking on the role of a Guidance Student Representative, I was also part of the Student Union.
After leaving Winstanley, I progressed to The University of Manchester, where I’m currently in my third year studying for a BA in Criminology. University life has been a rewarding challenge, and I’ve had the chance to apply my learning in real-world settings. I’m also working as a Wellbeing Youth Worker and receptionist at Wigan Youth Zone, which allows me to support young people and contribute to their wellbeing. This role has been incredibly fulfilling, and it’s further fuelled my passion for youth work and justice.
Right now, I’m focused on completing my dissertation on Interpersonal Violent Crimes, a subject that aligns with my career goals. I’m passionate about becoming a youth justice worker, supporting young people within the youth justice system, and continuing my work in youth services.’
Thanks for catching up with us, Kaitlin, and we wish you very success in your future career.
