Winstanley College Hosts Red Carpet Premiere for Student Film 'Sandcastles'

Winstanley College rolled out the red carpet last night, July 3rd, for the much-anticipated premiere of the student-produced short film, Sandcastles. The event marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication from the college's talented young filmmakers.

Directed by Matthew Humphris and written by Calum Hall, Sandcastles tells an emotional and uplifting story about friendship and overcoming adversity. The film features standout performances by lead actors Shalom Abitogun and Kian Woodcock, whose portrayals brought the heartfelt narrative to life and left many in the audience reaching for tissues.

The premiere was a resounding success, drawing a packed house of enthusiastic viewers. Among the special guests were ITV's Adam McClean and BAFTA-winning screenwriter Phil Mealey, who praised the students' remarkable achievements and the film's touching storyline.

Bev Breary and Steve Braddick, the media staff who supervised the project, expressed immense pride in their students. They revealed plans to submit Sandcastles to various short film festivals, hoping the film will gain further recognition and accolades.

The evening was a celebration of creativity, hard work, and the supportive community at Winstanley College, shining a spotlight on the next generation of filmmakers.
