Faith Hits the Airwaves

In the week before Christmas, budding journalist and upper sixth student Faith, completed a week’s work experience with Hits Radio at their HQ in Manchester.

She got the opportunity to sit in the Breakfast Show with James Barr and Fleur East and saw how they prepared for the day’s production. She also got to spend time with the news team, see how they sourced stories and how they are recorded so they can be played across multiple stations across the UK.

She was also very fortunate to meet Ellie Leach (recent strictly winner) who came into the studio for an interview.

Faith said: ‘The placement was so good! I didn’t expect to get one when I contacted Matt to arrange it, but I’m so glad they gave me the opportunity because it has given me an invaluable experience which will aid my dream of securing an apprenticeship in journalism after college.’
