Last week, Winstanley College came together to show support for World Mental Health Day with a vibrant #HelloYellow campaign, championed by YoungMinds. Students and staff embraced the theme by wearing yellow to raise awareness for mental health, helping to send a strong message: no one in our community is alone in facing their mental health challenges.

The day kicked off with a photo opportunity. Dressed in shades of yellow, the Winstanley community united to show their support for the cause.

At lunchtime, the Student Union hosted a ‘Tea and Talk’ bake sale. Staff and students were invited to enjoy a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and great company, with all proceeds going to two important charities: YoungMinds and the Mental Health Foundation. Attendees could also purchase yellow ribbon pin badges, celebrating their commitment to mental health awareness.

The event was a fantastic success, raising £149.03, which will be shared between the two charities.

Thank you to everyone who wore yellow, attended the events, and helped spread the message that mental health is something we should all take seriously. Together, we can create a supportive, caring environment for everyone at Winstanley College.
