Record numbers awarded in Biology Olympiad

Congratulations to Winstanley College science students who have been recognised for their achievements in the Biology Olympiad 2024. This year saw record numbers from College take part with 25 winners overall (6 gold, 5 silver and 16 bronze).

The British Biology Olympiad is an advanced problem-solving competition for A-level students which challenges them to demonstrate their talent and be publicly recognised with certificates.

Emma Wilkinson, Head of Biology, commented; ‘This has been a bumper year for us with more students than ever being awarded in the Olympiad. The competition presents topics and ideas outside of students’ usual studies and is a real test of problem-solving skills and understanding of core principles. All who took part should be extremely proud of themselves!’
